This FicStory Privacy Policy describes how FicStory ("FicStory" or "we" or "us") handles any personal information we get from users and visitors to the FicStory APP and the services we offer in connection with the website and applications.
Your privacy is something that we take very seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we gather, utilize, distribute, and handle user and third-party personal data in relation to our services.
Since our business depends on the personal information of our users, please carefully read this privacy statement. Through your use of our Platform and/or Services, you consent to the following privacy policies.
By using our Services, you confirm you have read and understand this Privacy Policy and agree to the processing of your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IN THE WAY THIS PRIVACY POLICY DESCRIBES, PLEASE DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR PERSONAL DATA WHEN REQUESTED AND STOP USING OUR SERVICES.

What Information Do We Collect
We collect personal data about you when we offer FicStory Services using the methods outlined below. Please be aware that in order to offer you FicStory Services, we require some kinds of information.

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name, phone number, and postal address. The information that we collect will be used to contact or identify you.
User-provided Information
When you create an account, upload content, contact us directly, or otherwise use the Platform, you may provide some or all of the following information:
- Account and profile information, such as name, age, username, password, language, email, phone number, social media account information, and profile image.
- User-generated content, including comments, photographs, livestreams, audio recordings, videos, text, hashtags, and virtual item videos that you choose to create with or upload to the Platform (“User Content”) and the associated metadata, such as when, where, and by whom the content was created. When you create User Content, we may upload or import it to the Platform before you save or post the User Content (also known as pre-uploading), If you apply an effect to your User Content, we may collect a version of your User Content that does not include the effect.
- Facial data, such as when you use some features provided by us to create special effects or emojis for your streaming section or pictures that you uploaded on FicStory Services, but such data will only be processed offline to fulfill the special effects or emojis and we will not use it for other purposes unless we have obtained your explicit consent or turn this into de-identified data; further, we will not use your facial data for marketing or advertising, nor will we share such data with any third party. In addition, if you utilize Real-Person Profile Picture Authentication, we collect your profile picture and facial-recognition video for Real-Person Profile Picture Authentication on the premise of your approval by comparing your profile picture with face-recognition video. This authentication can protect you from impersonators and fake accounts, or develop the authenticity of Megocamp Services. We do not retain your face recognition video in our servers, such video is merely for verifying.
- Information, including text, images, and videos, found in your device’s clipboard, with your permission. For example, if you choose to initiate information sharing with a third-party platform, or choose to paste content from the clipboard onto the Platform, we access this information stored in your clipboard in order to fulfill your request.
- Your Global Positioning System (GPS) information, after you permit us to do so, but you may change access to your GPS information via the settings on your mobile device;
- Payment information, such as full name, billing address, billing zip code, billing country, date of birth, purchase amount, payment method, credit or debit card number or other payment information where required for payment;
- Transaction information such as the transaction serial number and transaction historical records after you purchased Paid Services;
- Your choices and communication preferences.
- Information to verify an account such as proof of identity or age.
- Information in correspondence you send to us, including when you contact us for support.
- Information you share through surveys or your participation in challenges, research, promotions, marketing campaigns, events, or contests such as your gender, age, likeness, and preferences.
Collected Information for Legitimate Interests
We may gather certain personal information about you when you utilize the FicStory Services, which is necessary for our legitimate business interests:
- Network Activity Information: This includes your browsing history, search history, the content you've viewed, the dates and times of your visits, the accounts of other users you've subscribed to, and details of your interactions with other users.
- Information from Other Sources: We may obtain additional data from third-party sources and services beyond the FicStory Services. For instance, we might collect information from games or services you use, or social media platforms (like Facebook) for which you've granted us access. When you access FicStory through social media or connect FicStory to social media, you're authorizing FicStory to collect, store, and utilize this additional information and content as per this Privacy Policy.
- Device Identifiers: This encompasses details such as your operating system, browser type, device brand and model, serial number, IP address, mobile carrier, screen resolution, language settings, IMEI number, IMSI number, and media access control address.
- Information about your access to and use of other apps.
- Other Location Information: This includes data based on your SIM card.
- Mobile Advertising Identifiers: These are used by mobile operating systems and provided to advertising providers to measure metrics on mobile apps (like Apple's IDFA or Google's AAID) to help us and advertisers serve ads that may be more relevant to your interests.
- Metadata: This is associated with the User-Generated Content (UGC) you've provided us and describes other data, offering insights into how, when, and by whom the UGC was collected and formatted, such as hashtags used to categorize keywords in a video or captions.
- Cookies: These are small data files that enable us to offer certain features, collected by us or our partners to measure and understand the web pages you click on and how you use FicStory Services, enhancing your experience with FicStory Services.
We may also collect, use, and share your information to produce and share aggregated insights that do not identify you. Aggregated data is derived from your personal information but is not considered personal information as it does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we might aggregate your usage data to determine the percentage of users accessing a specific website feature, to generate statistics about our users, or to calculate ad impressions served or clicked on.
The storage and access to cookies set in connection with the FicStory Services are governed by the FicStory Cookie Policy ("Cookie Policy").

Provide our service to you: Most of the time, the reason we process your information is to perform the contract that you have with us. For instance, as you go about using our service to build meaningful connections, we use your information to maintain your account and your profile, to make it viewable to other users and recommend other users to you.
Legitimate interests: We may use your information where we have legitimate interests to do so. For instance, we analyze users’ behavior on our Services to continuously improve our offerings, we suggest offers we think might interest you, and we process information for administrative, fraud detection and other legal purposes.
Marketing:
- Push Message Marketing: With your explicit consent, we will send you marketing push messages.
- Email Marketing: With your explicit consent, we may send you marketing emails.
- Retargeting: You might see marketing messages on the platforms listed below. In addition, other users who have similar characteristics to you on those platforms could see marketing messages on those platforms as well (i.e., Facebook Lookalike audience). An opt-out is possible at any time via our customer support. It may take a few days after the opt-out until you are removed from all audiences.
Consent : From time to time, we may ask for your consent to use your information for certain specific reasons. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at the address provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.
How We Share Information
In certain instances, we may share your personal information with third-party service providers to further improve and optimize our service for you. We may share information about you in the following ways:
- With other users. We may share the following information with other users
- Information about you, such as your username and name;
- Information about how you have interacted with the services, such as the names of users you are friends with, and other information that will help users understand your connections with others using the services. For example, because it may not be clear whether a new friend request comes from someone you actually know, we may share whether you and the requestor have Megocamp friends in common;
- Any additional information you have consented for us to share. For example, when you let us access your device phonebook, we may share information about you with other users who have your phone number in their device phonebook;
- With all users and the general public. We may share the following information with all users as well as the general public:
- Public information like your profile pictures that you submit to Local. If a Local service is streamed on the web or broadcast in some other media, it may be viewed by the public at large.
- With third parties, we may share your information with the following third parties:
- With service providers, sellers, and partners. We may share information about you with service providers who perform services on our behalf, sellers that provide goods through our services, and business partners that provide services and functionality.
- With third parties for legal reasons. We may share information about you if we reasonably believe that disclosing the information is needed to:
- Comply with any valid legal process, government request, or applicable law, rule, or regulation;
- Investigate, remedy, or enforce potential Terms of Services violations;
- Protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our users, or others; or detect and resolve any fraud or security concerns.
- In the aggregate or after de-identification. We may also share with third parties, such as advertisers, aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
You expressly agree that the information provided when you register the Platform and/or the content your created when using the Platform (including, without limitation, photos, text, messages, posts, html, URLs, pictures, video, and other content), may be recorded, stored, published and made available to the rest of FicStory users. Furthermore, other users may follow you on the Platform, and your followers can see, for example, the user-contributed content that you have uploaded to the Platform. Individuals reading this information may use it or disclose it to other individuals or entities without our control and without your knowledge. We therefore urge you to think carefully about including any specific information you may deem private in the information you provided or content that you create in the Platform.
Your information may also be stored and process in any country in which we provide service to due to server facilities and third-party service teams. By using our service, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.
If you do not agree with all of the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use our service. Community safety is our number one priority and some of the above user information are mandatory in order to create a safe community for all users.
Data Security
We take appropriate administrative, technical and physical security measures to safeguard your Personal Information from unauthorized access and disclosure. For example, only authorized employees are permitted to access Personal Information, and they may do so only for permitted business functions. In addition, we use encryption in the transmission of certain your Personal Information between your system and ours, and we use firewalls to help prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to your Personal Information. Please be advised, however, that we cannot fully eliminate security risks associated with the storage and transmission of your Personal Information. You should use caution whenever submitting information through FicStory Services and take special care in deciding which information you provide us with.
You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your password and account information at all times.
How Long We Keep Your Content
We will retain your Personal Information and other information for as long as you maintain your Megocamp account.
You may request deletion of your account at any time through the Me > Settings > Account Management > Delete Account in the app, or through sending email to help@ficstories.com. Following such request with appropriate review by us, we will delete the data that it is not required to retain for purposes of regulatory, tax, insurance, litigation, or other legal requirements. For example, we retain location, device, and usage data for these purposes for a reasonable period as may be necessary; while it retains such data, it may also use it for purposes of safety, security, fraud prevention and detection, and research and development. In certain circumstances, we may be unable to delete your account, such as if there’s a balance on the account or an unresolved claim or dispute. Upon resolution of the issue preventing deletion, we will delete the account as described above.
We may also retain certain information if necessary for purposes of safety, security, and fraud prevention. For example, if we deactivate a user’s account because of unsafe behavior or security incidents, we may retain certain information about that account to prevent that user from opening a new Megocamp account in the future.
Your Rights
You have certain rights around the use of your data, including the ability to opt-out of cookies, and the collection of your data by certain analytics providers. You can update or terminate your account from within our Services, and can also contact us for individual rights requests about your personal data. We want you to be in control of your information, so we have provided you with the following tools:
- Access / Update tools in the service: Tools and account settings that help you to access, rectify or delete information that you provided to us and that’s associated with your account directly within the service.
- Device permissions: Mobile platforms have permission systems for specific types of device data and notifications, such as phone book and location services as well as push notifications. You can change your settings on your device to either consent or oppose the collection of the corresponding information or the display of the corresponding notifications. Of course, if you do that, certain services may lose full functionality.
- Deletion: You can delete your account by using the corresponding functionality directly on the service.
We want you to be aware of your privacy rights. Here are a few key points to remember:
- Reviewing your information: Applicable privacy laws may give you the right to review the personal information we keep about you (depending on the jurisdiction, this may be called right of access, right of portability or variations of those terms). You can request a copy of your personal information by sending us an email at help@ficstories.com..
- Updating your information: If you believe that the information we hold about you is inaccurate or that we are no longer entitled to use it and want to request its rectification, deletion or object to its processing, please contact us via help@ficstories.com.
For your protection and the protection of all of our users, we may ask you to provide proof of identity before we can answer the above requests.
Keep in mind, we may reject requests for certain reasons, including if the request is unlawful or if it may infringe on trade secrets or intellectual property or the privacy of another user. If you wish to receive information relating to another user, such as a copy of any messages you received from him or her through our service, the other user will have to contact our Privacy Officer to provide their written consent before the information is released.
Also, we may not be able to accommodate certain requests to object to the processing of personal information, notably where such requests would not allow us to provide our service to you anymore. For instance, we cannot provide our service if we do not have your date of birth.
- Uninstall: You can stop all information collected by an app by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall process for your device. If you uninstall the app from your mobile device, the unique identifier associated with your device will continue to be stored. If you re-install the application on the same mobile device, we will be able to re-associate this identifier to your previous transactions and activities.
- Accountability: In certain countries, including in the European Union, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority if you have concerns about how we process your personal information. The data protection authority you can lodge a complaint with notably may be that of your habitual residence, where you work or where we are established.

- You may be able to control some of the Information We Collect through your device browser settings to refuse or disable Cookies. Because each browser is different, please consult the instructions provided by your browser. Please note that you may need to take additional steps to refuse or disable certain types of Cookies. In addition, your choice to disable Cookies is specific to the particular browser or device that you are using when you disable Cookies, so you may need to separately disable Cookies for each type of browser or device. If you choose to refuse, disable, or delete Cookies, some of the functionality of the Platform may no longer be available to you. Without this information, we are not able to provide you with all of the requested services.
- Your device may have controls that determine what Information We Collect. For example, you can control whether we can collect your mobile advertising identifier for advertising through settings on your Apple and Android devices.
- You can opt out of marketing or advertising emails by using the “unsubscribe” link or mechanism noted in marketing or advertising emails.
-You can switch off GPS location, Microphone, Camera or other similar functions on your mobile device if you do not wish to share them. You can also hide your location, videos uploaded, recent active time and other information by adjusting “Privacy” setting.

Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended solely for individuals who are at least 13 years old. We do not allow individuals under 13 to use our platform and we do not intentionally gather personal data from anyone under 13. If you suspect that a user is under 13, please report it using the reporting tools provided within the service. If we discover that a child or someone under 13 has registered with us and shared personal information, we will take immediate action to cancel their registration and remove their personal details from our platform. Should we remove a Profile for breaching our age restriction policy, we may retain some basic account and profile details to prevent you from circumventing our rules by creating a new account.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update the Privacy Policy, we will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of the new Privacy Policy, posting the new Privacy Policy, or providing any other notice required by applicable law. We recommend that you review the Privacy Policy each time you visit the Platform to stay informed of our privacy practices.
Specific Instructions for California Residents
This section is important for those living in California and provides specific information regarding your rights related to Personal Data. In this context, "Personal Data" refers to any information that can identify you or your household.
According to the California Shine the Light Law, California residents can ask about third parties that have received certain Personal Data from us for marketing purposes. You can make this request once a year. To do so, please confirm your identity as a California resident and provide a current California address for our response. You can send your request using the contact information in the 'How to contact us' section below. Expect a reply within 30 days.
If you are under 18 years old and live in California, and you want to remove specific public information you provided to us, you can request its removal through the contact information provided in the 'How to contact us' section. Please be specific about what you want to remove and include details like the URLs of the pages containing that information.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to opt out of the "sale" of your Personal Data. Many apps share information with partners to display personalized ads. Sharing your Personal Data with these companies may be considered a "sale" under CCPA.
Currently, we do not have a standard industry-wide solution for responding to "Do Not Track" requests, so we may not be able to fulfill these requests. However, there are various tools you can use to prevent third parties from collecting your activity and device data.
